Tapas trail in Ronda
Tapas in Ronda
Many of you have asked for recommendations for places to eat in Ronda, so we thought we’d create a tapas trail, includes our favourite places to go for a quick snack and a drink!
Tabanco Los Arcos (C. Armiñán, 6)
First on the route is Tabanco los Arcos, which is right across the famous El Tajo bridge in the old town of Ronda. A tabanco is the name for local sherry bars that originated in Jerez, but today, a tabanco is a popular name for a tapas bar and Tabanco los Arcos is one of the best ones in Ronda.
One of the coolest things about this bar is that they almost only serve wine produced in Ronda and you can get them by the glass! And you need to try their delicious iberico ham.
Bodega El Socorro (C. Molino, 4)
For the next tapas bar, we have to cross the bridge into Ronda’s new town. Bodega el Socorro is popular amongst both locals and tourists for their excellent food at very reasonable prices. Their star dish is the ribs, but they have lots of interesting tapas to try.
El Rincon de la Manzanilla (C. Virgen de los Remedios, 13)
Cross the main square Plaza del Socorro and you’ll find the next stop: el Rincon de la Manzanilla. This might be our favourite due to the fun decor, the busyness, the people watching and most importantly the crisp manzanilla poured straight from the barrel at very reasonable prices. Their cold tapas are a perfect match: you maywant to try the chicharrones, the papas aliñas con melva or my favourite the skewers that are on display inside. Their cold tapas are a perfect match: you may want to try the chicharrones, or my favourite the skewers that are on display inside. This might be our favourite and is a true tapas gem. Here you can try crisp manzanilla straight from the barrel, just like in the old days! Their cold tapas are a perfect match, from papas aliñas with melva, to creamy payoyo cheese and anchovies with tomato.
Taberna Los Brothers (C. Virgen de los Remedios)
Last place on the route is called Taberna los Brothers, which is a small tapas bar, mostly visited by locals. If you want to get away from the busy tourist's spots on the main streets of Ronda for a quick caña and a tapas, this place is definitely for you!
