Thanks to all of your regulars and new friends who have helped to make 2009 a very successful season at Molino del Santo. We are estimating that we will double our profitability in 2009 compared with 2008 – a great result in the current climate.
All of Hotel Molino del Santo’s facilities are now closed until the end of February 2010. We shall be able to answer e-mail enquiries all through the winter period and our phone lines will be answered until the end of November 2009 and from the 1st February until the 25th February 2010 from 10am until 2pm CET, Monday to Friday.
Arrangements during December and January for phone communication will be announced soon.
We hope very much to see you in 2010.

This is unseasonably wonderful – clear blue skies, not cold overnight meaning that the pool is still at 24ºC, lunchtimes outside in the shade for some people because the sun is still hot at mid-day, perfect walking conditions.
Relax, recharge, recover.
Why not consider Molino del Santo for next autumn – and get an injection of energy before the Christmas mayhem starts? Contact us at info@molinodelsanto.com at any time. We look forward to seeing you.

Although exact details are a little sketchy, the railway line that passes through Benaoján is to be improved over the next few months. As far as we can determine, the line from the north as far as Ronda will continue to operate – and a substitute bus service will operate from Ronda to Algeciras. The last trains before the engineering work are due to run on the 25th October.
We love having a local station with trains that run through stunning scenery and hope that the line will be up and running again for the beginning of our next season.
In the meantime please contact us to check the latest position regarding the service.
Lots of people use our local train service to visit Molino del Santo – one of the reasons that Benaoján station is still open. We hope to see you on the trains as soon as they are reinstated.

Molino del Santo is a great place to be with its almost guaranteed sunshine during the whole of the summer months. We have very warm days but our stream ensures that every night the tempertaure drops so that comfortable sleep is always possible. (We also do have air-conditioning throughout the hotel to ensure that you are always in control.)
However there are always surprises and earlier this week we had an AMAZING summer storm. In approximately 30minutes a huge amount of water fell which led to some storm drains overflowing – and some huge hailstones cascaded down.
The wonderful thing is that it is not a drawn-out process. Everyone had lunch outside under the willow tree, the storm rolled in mid-afternoon, people took shelter in amazement as the heavens opened and the thunder clapper but then it moved on. We thought we would need to serve dinner inside that night but it cleared so quickly that we were able to enjoy the blue skies of late afternoon. The staff cleared fallen leaves and dried tables and chairs and, hey presto, dinner was served outside again.
We love summer in Andalucia – and we think most people will too. It’s still not too late to visit this August or September. Mention this article and we’ll make you a special offer for your visit this year.

Sitting on the Molino del Santo terrace last night, there was a full moon rising over the mountains as dusk fell. It was wonderfully warm, the terrace was busy with relaxed families, couples and groups of friends and it felt as though everyone should be able to experience this very special place as often as possible.
We are very busy now so there are only occasional free nights but at the end of the month there is some availability for longer stays. We would be delighted to see you here and we will offer you the best price possible for dates that we can find that suit you.
Contact reception by e-mail or phone now and escape to a different world. e.mail on molino@logiccontrol.es or call + 34 952 16 71 51.

This weekend – the last in July – is the time when Benaoján station has its local party – and everyone is invited. Hotel Molino del Santo supports the feria financially as the party continues for two nights – and all in honour of the train! Yes – there is no church in our part of the village so there are no Saints or Virgins to be honoured, so the train is the focus. Every train that comes through the station is particularly noisy – blowing its horn to the maximum to join in the fun.
For many people the highlight is the Sunday afternoon proceedings which are happening right now – the local square packed to bursting with people enjoying free sangria and chorizos. The band is hammering out various kinds of music to appeal to all-comers and a huge tarpaulin roof ensures that there is room to escape from the sun.
After an hour or so the hose pipe comes out and sooner or later everyone gets soaked as the organisers take it in turns to pick on their friends and family to cool them down. It is all very good-natured and guaranteed to ensure that everyone has a great time. Bear it in mind for 2010?
